I taught for seven years in the special education department of two different public elementary schools. I worked with students in grades 3-5 for my first six years in a Title I school. My last year, at one of the wealthiest schools in the district, I spent most of my time in kindergarten — which was quite a change on both accounts.

 

I had the benefit of working with the entire student population. I taught resource classes to students that were multiple years behind in reading and math. I also co-taught in the general education classroom.

For the last few years, I have been doing web and graphic design for the entire school district. My wife teaches sixth grade language arts.
